Nothing special here, just a DIY guy that likes to learn new skills and build things.
A little about me… I grew up a farm kid in southern Arizona. I’ve done a bunch of stuff from farming, to carpentry, plumbing, aircraft maintenance and flying (both Dad’s dad and Mom’s dad were pilots of the WWII era, so it was in my blood), worked for a concrete company on the aggregate side working in the open pit mine and ran the rock crushers and screens… all by the time I turned 20. Then joined the Army as a Blackhawk mechanic/crewchief, went to Warrant Officer Candidate School and flight school. Did my stint flying helicopters, got out and went to school. Went to undergrad school for telecommunications (voice and data networks), worked several “IT” gigs in the civilian sector as just the computer guy. Then moved from Dallas area to Alabama due to my wife’s job and got a job as a govt contractor working with the Army’s Tactical Network. Decided to up my game and get a graduate degree in Systems Engineering. I now run a small team that supports the Tactical Network backbone across the globe.
All that and I’m still a play in the dirt kind of guy. So in my off time, I’m working on projects around our little piece of property doing all things DIY. Currently restoring a 1971 F250 4×4 “Highboy”. Love working with my hands. I enjoy woodworking and steel and have combined them in a couple of projects.
I look forward to seeing others projects (always looking for ideas) and learning from others.
