Product Details

We specifically engineered our DIY welding tables to share the exact same leg platform as our Texas Metal Works factory built fabrication tables, so you’re getting the exact same kit our fabricators assemble for every table. The difference is that it’s up to YOU to make sure you do a great job with the welding.

WARNING: Remember, the safety of the entire table is dependent on the quality of the leg assembly. If you aren’t certain you can properly weld the leg joints, it’s ok! Just check out our pre-made welding tables or welding carts so we can keep you safe and sound! We can’t afford to be losing any customers! 😉

Overview Video

Here’s a quick and easy video demonstrating how to assemble our DIY Welding Table Legs Kit.

All kits include:

  • Leg Components: Four legs (six for larger tables).
  • Plates: One for the top and one for the bottom of each leg (casters only).
  • Cross Bracing: Includes long and short braces, varying by table size

You choose:

  • Casters: Our super heavy-duty, total lock break, black-on-black casters (1,000 lbs capacity each).
  • Leveling Feet: Ultra high capacity (4,000 lbs per foot) swivel leveling feet, plus hammer in inserts rated at 1,500lbs each.

General Assembly Instructions

Step 1: Assembling the Legs

  • Bottom Plate: The smaller plate goes on the bottom of the leg for attaching casters.
  • Top Plate: The larger plate goes on the top for bolting to the top.
  • The legs and plates are cut in such a way that you can’t fit the wrong one in the wrong place.

Step 2: Adding Cross Bracing

  • Insert the tabs of the short braces into the slots on the legs. Tack-weld to hold in place.
  • Attach long brace tabs to short brace slots. Use 90-degree magnets or angles to ensure everything is square.
  • Weld only two sides of each intersection (skip the top to avoid bumps). Focus on keeping the structure strong but functional.

Step 3: Feet or Casters

  1. Caster Option
    • Fixed and swivel casters use the same bottom plate. Just make sure you install both swivel casters on one end, and fixed casters on the other end.
    • Maintenance: Use the built-in grease fittings to ensure smooth operation.
  2. Leveling Feet Option
    • Hammer the insert into the bottom of the tubing until flush.
    • Thread the leveling feet into the insert.

Final Tips

  • Safety First: Make strong welds as the table’s safety depends on them.
  • Don’t Overweld: Avoid excessive heat to prevent warping.
  • Use Accessories:The braces include pre-cut holes for adding shelves if needed.

Assembling the DIY leg kit is straightforward with attention to detail and welding accuracy. If you’re unsure of your skills, consider one of our pre-built weld tables. Happy building! 🎉
