Welcome to WeldProjects!

Announcing Our BETA Launch

Today is a hugely exciting day! And one that’s taken literally years to come to fruition. Because I’m happy to announce the BETA LAUNCH of the WeldProjects.com website, complete with a fresh batch of initial available projects – plus our discussion forums which I hope will be the beginning of a vibrant and supportive Maker community.

My brother Kirk and I, along with the engineering and fabrication teams at Texas Metal Works, have invested a ton of resources over the past two years developing and testing professionally engineered kits from a wide range of categories which we can use the Texas Metal Works equipment, facilities and infrastructure to produce and send to YOU to complete.

Our development team has also spent months and months building this site with all sorts of functionality that doesn’t actually exist anywhere else! A lot of it is hidden from casual users, but on the back end there are systems that allow us to efficiently fulfil orders, integrate with other systems, and a whole lot more!

To be clear, you may encounter any number of issues on the site at the moment! If you see something wrong, please report it on our forums.

What You’ll Find Here

This is a dream I’ve had for years, because I always wanted to build cool stuff in my little home workshop, but there’s just no way an individual can afford the kind of lasers, press brakes, and other industrial tools required to actually cut out the parts to build something legitimately awesome.

To make matters worse, companies that actually own this equipment can’t afford to stop and do little projects for individuals. They HAVE to work on giant stuff to pay the huge bills for expensive equipment and high overhead.

So… for years we built and grew Texas Metal Works in order to achieve the scale necessary to create WeldProjects.com!

On this site you’ll find two primary things that we hope you’ll find of tremendous value:

  1. A shop full of products you can build based on fully documented plans to accompany precision cut and bent parts, complete with tabs, slots, etchings and whatever else is needed to make sure the kits go together easily, precisely and repeatedly.
  2. Our discussion forums where everyone is encouraged to ask questions, provide feedback, document builds, and request new projects. Wouldn’t it be amazing to build a thriving, supportive community where we can help each other be successful!?!

What You Won’t Find Here

NEVER Any Ads!!!

We will never litter our discussion forums with ADS!!! Our parent company is footing the bill for ALL of this. So as long as we’re able to stay in business, this is all covered. And if we aren’t… well, it all goes away.

So you don’t have to worry that, like OTHER forums, you’re going to keep getting barraged by more and more ads, and a degraded experience.

No Merciless Billionaires!

We also chose to set up our own forums rather than hosting discussions on Reddit, Facebook, or any other third party so we can maintain absolute control and continuity. We don’t want our community to be at the mercy of a giant, faceless corporate overlord and it’s billionaire owners.

So, if we’re going to invest in a community let’s do it here! Where we have control, and aren’t under the thumbs of some random billionaire out to make a buck off our blood, sweat and tears.

What’s Next

First of all, we sincerely hope you’ll join us. Even if you’re not ready to actually build something yet, sign up and introduce yourself on the forums! I did!

Second, our team is going to continue pouring resources into the development of new projects. So, that’s another reason to join – to get notifications of the new stuff being released. AND to put in your requests for projects you’d like to see us work on! And if you want to provide projects for the community and earn a commission on every sale, submit your designs!

Finally, stay tuned for other exciting plans that we’ll be sharing in the near future.

Cheers!
